Church Humor (Brian Bagnall)

When you have the opportunity buy 3 cartoon books for 5 euro, you don't have to hesitate. A few weeks ago I found this little old book with cartoons by cartoonist Brian Bagnall (dutch edition, Mondria, 1982, ISBN 90 6555 027 5).

I noticed there are 2 cartoonists with the same name. The cartoons are not by Brian Bagnall (1921-2004), but by Brian Bagnall born in 1943 and now living in Germany as a cartoonist and illustrator.
This is what I found about the artist on his website:

"Brian Bagnall, born in 1943 in Wakefield, England, first studied at Wakefield Technical & Art College (painting and printmaking) and at Kingston upon Hull College of Art. Having achieved his National Diploma with distinction and after a year of teaching printmaking at Hull, he moved to Amsterdam, Holland, and worked for many international advertising agencies and magazines.
In 1970 he started to work freelance in Munich, Germany. Together with his wife he founded “Bagnall Studios”, working in a wide variety of fields: advertising, magazines, merchandising products and various kinds of books. His artistic career was crowned by many exhibitions in England, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy and Korea. He also teaches drawing and all different methods of painting."

In memoriam Jean-Jacques Loup (1936 - 31/7/2015 )

We will all miss the funny drawings and cartoons of Jean-Jacques Loup... I always adored the funny creatures he drew. I have 2 books of Loup: La Vie des Maîtres and Carnet de Croquis.
Thanks Jean-Marie for sending this nice picture and cartoons.
